Dr. Swarnajyoti Patra is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Tezpur University, Tezpur, India. His research interests include pattern recognition,feature selection, feature extraction and remote sensing image analysis.

Dr. Patra is a Referee for several journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters and the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing.
