Dr. Bhabesh Deka is a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Tezpur University, Assam, India. His major research interests are in Digital Image Processing, Biomedical Signal Processing, Machine and Computer Vision; Machine Learning and Deep Learning for Biomedical Signal/ Image Processing and Analysis; Deep Learning for Precision Agriculture; Microwave and Millimeter-wave Biosensors for Smart Healthcare; Embedded Machine Learning on FPGA for system-on-chip (SoC) Applications. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, USA since 2018 and Fellow, IETE, India. He is also awarded with the Visvesvaryaya Young Faculty Research Fellowship (VYFRF) by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY),GoI for the period 2018-2021.

He has more than 60 publications in reputed journals and conferences, and authored a book: Compressed Sensing Magnetic Resonance Image Reconstruction Algorithms - A Convex Optimization Approach, Springer Series on Bio- and Neurosystems, Springer, Singapore, 2019 and edited two Book volumes: 8th International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence (PReMI) 2019, Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS), Springer, 2019.
